Oops... sorry the site was down for a couple of days because I managed to crash HomeSite just as I was saving it. Anyway, you didn't miss much apart from a link to this guy's photos from the so-called 'Global Day of Action' rallies that happened in San Francisco this weekend. Now you all know how much I love democracy, but I gotta say, a lot of these "protestors" are nothing but misguided wankers. Some of the photos are funny, some have some amusing captions, however a lot of them are just plain scary. And for once, I'm not merely Liberal-bashing, there's some really disturbing propaganda here is all.

Yesterday was a perfect day for a drive in the Santa Cruz mountains. Here's a photo of me looking mean against my car (caution - large image). Thanks to Jared!

Tonight I finally got to see The Passion of the Christ. I don't have a problem with violent movies, in fact I own and enjoy many. I was also aware of the amount of violence to expect in Mel Gibson's controversial new film. But really it was way too much. I found the amount of gore excessive and almost distasteful, and I think it detracted from any message the movie was trying to convey. There's very little spirit there, very little in the way of humanity, and hey, I thought this Jesus fellow was supposed to be full of that. In the end, The Passion turned out to be quite an ugly movie, and made me feel a little uneasy.

I've been trotting down memory lane recently by watching the first two seasons of Rumpole of The Bailey on DVD. Rumpole was a fantastic British drama that ran from the late '70s to the early '90s, starring the incomparable Leo McKern as high court barrister Horace Rumpole. Every episode is a joy, full of humor and intrigue. No special effects, no cheesey endings, just pure, well-written drama by John Mortimer.

So Martha Stewart is most likely going to prison, and of course, that's not in the least bit hilarious... So I was thinking of all the potential books she could write while incarcerated: Martha's Guide to Slopping Out, From Martha's Cell, Accessorizing For Small Spaces, and of course, Cooking in Prison. I think she'll do just fine in there.

This had me laughing today - Rap Lyrics Translated. "I enjoy playing my music loudly on my car stereo. Apparently, women enjoy this also because they become sexually aroused when they see me driving." Classic stuff.
