It has been a while since our last one, but we're planning the next San Francisco Lomo Crawl for November 23rd around the Mission district. Should be fun! I may even eat a burrito.

October has been a strange month, but I found a new roommate for my apartment in the end, and have been purchasing much in the way of furniture and other goodies for my home.

We all know that Creed suck HUGE donkey cock, but in the last few days they have been responsible for not only holding me up in heavy traffic on the 101 because of their shitty concert at Shoreline, but also for ruining a frame of bowling. The alley I was at decided (in their infinite wisdom) to broadcast a big-screen video of one of their appallingly dreadful rock songs while I was playing, and frankly, it ruined my game. Just to rub it in, today I saw someone at work wearing a Creed hooded sweatshirt. I had no choice but to hand in my resignation immediately.

I'm not overly familiar with the band Oxbow, but I find it highly amusing that the person mentioned in this article as:

"a disruptive audience member (and Jarvis Cocker clone, albeit not as lofty)"

is a friend of mine. The singer himself, on the band's web site, refers to him here (check the entry for The Verge, London) with the comment:

"We play and somebody falls onto the stage and all I see is a jumble of red hair and a hole and so I jump on and start fucking. I remember very little else of the actual show."

It's great having such notorious friends.

Yesterday I went to a Baby Shower. I'd never been to a Baby Shower before. I'd never been to Fremont either, so I killed two birds with one stone. Ain't life grand?

I'm glad I've got a week off from work. I have a friend visiting from England and will spend most of the week bowling, playing pool and snooker, eating, watching movies, and generally relaxing. It will be blissful I am sure.

In the meantime, I got a roll of Lomo film back from York Photo, and most of them are covered with little white speckles... it's very disconcerting, but I think it was the film itself. I've still got issues with over/under exposure, even though I changed my batteries very recently. Perhaps something has gone screwy with the electronics inside the Lomo. I'm going to run a few more rolls through, and if it keeps happening I'll probably ditch it and buy another.

I was explaining to my mother yesterday about how downloading and installing Yahoo! Messenger is 'hardly rocket science', and it got me wondering what actual rocket scientists would say in a situation when faced with a non-complicated task. If anyone from NASA is reading this, perhaps they could enlighten me.

This is probably the most elaborate yet strangely dull and over-the-top use of Flash I've seen in a long time from none other than David (fucking) Copperfield. Talk about ego...

There's some photos from the Getty Museum in Los Angeles on the Olympus XA4 page under August. They're not particularly exciting, and I can't be arsed to link to them here. I think I need to spend longer there next time I visit, and plan out some shots. There's some interesting looking architecture there that warrants good, well thought out photography, not my hapless point-and-shoot efforts.
